I just got back from IKEA and bought this side table that I think will make an awesome cake stand. The top comes off so you can add things inside if you want, i.e. I am making a chocolate cake with truffles to look like grape, so I might add some silk vines in the bottom of the table. What do you all think?

This could be a really creative display / serving stand - possibilities seem endless (your vines, fish, flowers, anything that fits your theme). I want to the IKEA site as I was curious about the dimensions - couldn't find it; do you have a link or the size?

What a great idea, I keep looking for different things to use as a cake stand or separators, but no luck yet.....
