I would like to do a beach theme around the sides of the cake, but I have no idea how to do the palm tree leaves (fronds?) I would like to use fondantif there is a cutter that would work but could pipe it with royal if I knew how. Thanks for any help.

Glad to see this post! I'll be making a palm tree in a few weeks and was wondering the same thing. I was just going to draw it and cut it out as a template. A cutter would be great though!

I have used the large rose leaf before and then just cut nicks into it to make it look more like a palm leaf. I think there may be a picture of it in my pics, but I have not finished uploading all of them yet, so I am not sure. The cake I did was from the Wilton 2007 (I think) yearbook. It details how to do it. If you are interested and can't find it pm me and I will send you the instructions.
I used a regular leaf cutter and just cut slices into the fondant instead of "veins". I let them dry on crumpled plastic wrap to get the odd shapes. Good luck as it was difficult getting them to stay together without cracking. Make several in advance just in case. Here is my cake, hope this helps.
I've tried a few different styles and this is the same technique I've settled with and it is great! Don't cut in too close to the center as yo may end up cutting too far. Use pretzel logs or stix depending on the size of the trees you are making. I used gummy bears as surfers and hula dancers using royal icing to "dress" them and used gum as surf boards and gummy life savers as water floats.
