I'm going to be doing a lot of cupcakes this school year. Has anyone gotten a nice effect with any other tip besides the 1M?

I just saw a cupcake tree where they used a bigger circle tip and just did the same thing as you would have with a 1M.........I thought it looked nice.

I've covered some with a grass tip...it went with the Shrek theme I did, but it's an idea. You could do different colors with the grass tip.

Which is the "grass tip"? I'm still new and my Wilton instructor didn't mention this.

Thanks!

I like to use tip # 32. It makes em look pretty. You can see them in my pics.

I couldn't find a 1M anywhere but I found out that a 2110 was the same tip. I bought it and it makes the cupcakes look more "bakery style".

Wow, I love this look! Looks like a big round tip was used to ice the cupacakes. Looks very nice!

I have used the 2D in a pinch and it was ok. The icing has deeper grooves in it. I have also use #32 tip and they look nice.

I love those cupcakes in your photos! So how did you do them like that?

Thanks! I start with the outer row and do kindof a semicircle motion with the piping bag at a 45 degree angle as I turn the cupcake counterclockwise. Then I do the same with the next level and overlap the outer row slightly. Do one full swirl at the top. I hope that makes sense. This is my favorite tip for cupcakes because it's a little different.

I like tip 195. I think I got in a set I bought. Anyway, it have small ridges so it has texture but not the large ridges of 1M. It is just something a little different.

They do not show up really well, but that is the tip I used for the cupcakes with the Wiggles cake in my photos.

Cindy

P.S. Mdutcher, I love the swirly cupcakes in your photos.
