Does anyone have a edible imaging system using either the Canon printers or Epson printers? I want to purchase one but don't know which is best. On one side, I have heard that Canon is better, and then I have also heard that Epson is better. I went to Kopykake.com to look at the compatible printers, and I can not find the Canon printers anywhere, and I can only find a few of the Epson printers.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue? (I have searched the forums on here, but I can't seem to find anything on this topic. I keep getting an error message.)
THANK YOU!!!! ![]()
Canon is discontinuing a lot of their printers--I think one reason why KK may have gotten inks for Epson printers. I have a Canon for my edible stuff and an Epson for my normal printer. I like them both. Becasue they are different companies, the printers have/do different things, so if you are used to Canon's, switching to Epson may take some time to figure the differences. I think if you can find a compatible printer at this point, Canon or Epson, either will work just fine. For doing edible images, you do not need to the high quality/more expensive printers that you would want if you were printing regular pictures--it would just be a waste of money.
After doing a lot of research and talking to Laura at Kopykake, I finally settled on the Epson 3810. I purchased it brand new from ebay and brought the inks and papers from kopykake.
I have an Epson Stylus C88 and love it. Took me a little bit to get it figured out, but once I did look out, I was making copies and putting them away to use later.
I am also an epson girl - c88+ here! I've only printed one sheet of 3" circles so far, but I was thoroughly impressed. Also, DH and I love epson printers anyway...we have 3!
our local compusa is closing, so DH bought my printer for 25% off or something like that.
ordered the edible stuff from kopykake, very easy!
