From Beginner To Wedding Cake! I've Come A Long Way Baby!

Pardon me for being a little sentimental so early in the morning but I was just looking at my photos and feel as though I have come full circle. Not quite a year ago on December 18th 2005 I made my very first cake. It was for my hubby's birthday and it was horrible! LOL Pictures are deceiving because the frosting on it was as thick as fudge. Bless his heart he still ate it and said it was good. However, I did notice the frosting pushed to the side 
And now just last month on September 23rd I delivered my very first Wedding Cake. I can hardly believe it.
I remember when I first started. I asked sooooooo many questions and was afraid to try to make my first cake. But I received so much support from the wonderful people here at CC that I finally did it. And when it turned out to be such a flop CC was there to pick me up and keep me going

I love that wedding cake you did.......(can't believe it's your first)........you know what's better than seeing your cake.........go back to all of your posts on here.........( believe me I'm not nosey..lol) but I just saw one of your first posts that you were saying how excited you were that you DH had you open up your Christmas present early and it was a kitchenaid!!!! You were just wanting to start baking!! sooooooo sweet!!!! Congratulations.........you've come a long way in a very short time!!
CONGRATS!!!!!! I am glad to see that you are doing so WELL!! I loved your wedding cake! It is absolutly gorgeous!!!!!!! Time flies by doesn't it! I hope I can get better each time as you did! I just started back in May! I have already two wedding cakes due in August and Sept. I only hope I can do as great as you did!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone I really wasn't fishing for compliments (but I'll take them LOL). I just wanted to share my sentimental moment with the people that made it possible, everyone here at CC.

Don't take it wrong, Susan! I just know what you mean. Although, I am not where you are, I have learned so much in a short time because of CC. This is just a really nice post!

That wedding cake is one of my favorites!!! Isn't great to look back at pics to see how much you have grown in the decorating. I do it all the time and think Wow I am really doing this. It still hasn't even been a year yet for me. Here's to all the years to come!

I LOVE your wedding cake. I am a beginner and just did my first and (so far) only wedding cake last month and now I can't wait to do another and try your calla lillie trick. I saved that post in my favs so that I could "hopefull" one day try it. I'm just waiting and looking for the opportunity! Great work. When I look on here at some of the cakes, I get inspired and want to do more cakes, I just don't have anyone to eat them!!!

Here's the tutorial/instructions. I hope to see other peoples version of this cake I was hoping that the thread would get more comments so it would stay close to the top so others could have the information if they wanted it.
