Good morning everyone thumbs_up.gif
Well day 3 has started & still doing good, still lots of water & healthy meals. I tell you being able to chat about this with you instead of going to munch has really helped me. Thanks again everyone for listening...

Itsmylife, glad to hear that you're feeling better about dropping off your son. I read your thread about it as I went thru the same thing last September with my oldest DD icon_cry.gif
Keep on going with the water thumbs_up.gif

Would you guys like to share meals we are eating, just maybe to give us some ideas??? I'll go first
I'm a bit of a picky eater so there isn't much variety with me but here it goes
Breakfest - Green tea with liquid sweetner & milk
Lunch - Chicken salad with a few mini crackers (breton)
Snack - orange
Dinner chicken salad with a few mini crackers (breton)
1 litre of water (thru out the day)
My salad consist of: First I panfried 100grams chicken sprayed with pam, I added a few drops of low sodium chicken broth so the chicken would stay moist & not burn...
For the salad I added, lettuce, tomato, cucumber & red pepper
I diced up th chicken once cooled & added it to the salad as well as about 1 tbsp of fat free mayo, mixed it all up & up it in the fridge for it all to cool & blend, maybe 5mins. The whole process took about 15 mins or so.

Hey there..... sorry about the absence today... I was able to get on just a couple of time to post on a few threads, but everytime I went here my stupid connection dropped. I finally called the cable company around 4pm and they didn't know what the problem was. Twenty minutes later, it was fine...so here I am!

Right now the boys are playing with Mr. Potatohead, so I have a few minutes again icon_rolleyes.gif

I did good with my water today... but no exercise icon_mad.gif . I've had the worst headache all day long...so I'll try to get back on it tomorrow.

Man, I read your menu, and I'm jealous..... you're really doing good. You're not just eating good stuff... but you're making it in a good way. Good for you thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif I still need to work on this. This is what I did today:

Breakfast - Bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats w/strawberries cereal w/lowfat milk
Lunch - skipped
Snack - a can of mushrooms (I know this is really wierd... but there are like no calories and fat in the mushrooms...so it's one of my 'snack' foods)
Dinner - right now I'm making cornish game hens, corn, & stuffing.

Off to check my hens!

Just wanted to do a quick check in -

Ate good today except for one piece of key lime pie. I bought some of those breton crackers, and they are goooood! I also bought some low fat, low sodium pringles for those snack times.

I'm helping someone with some data analysis, so I'm a bit swamped...but I'll try to check back tomorrow (Friday).

I went to the Olive Garden for dinner today icon_redface.gif but I didn't really have much for lunch prior to that, just a 1/2 sandwhich and didn't have any snacks all day. Had Life cereal for breakfast. I drank Diet Coke, as usual and didn't quite finish my plate either. I made sure I ate the grilled chicken and broccoli first before doing the pasta so I wouldn't eat as much of it icon_smile.gif

Sorry to hijack, but the Have A Nice Day tour was NOT a world tour, they didn't come to Australia and I am not a happy bunny! At least I could see em when I was England, but since I've been back home they seem to refuse to come out here, and there is so much love for Bon Jovi out here.... icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I miss my special guy! (Yes I know he doesn't know he's my special guy but that's ok only I need to know it for it to be true! icon_lol.gificon_confused.gificon_razz.gif )

Good morning!

Well day five is here, just about ready for my green tea this morning...
Well Day 4 must have been the hardest soo far as it's not easy to start a diet & be having my ladies days at the same time icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I was def craving carbs & fat yesterday, it started off when I was making lunch for the girls as I made pasta, i didn't realize how much I missed it till I made it, it was tough but I got thru it & just had my grilled chicken with a few tomato slices for lunch thumbs_up.gif Then last night I really had a craving attack, but instead of eating what I'm not suppose too, I ate a few mini crakers & chugged down lots of water. Which seem to calm me down till today...
I guess I'll just have to keep myself busier today icon_rolleyes.gif
Have a nice day thumbs_up.gif

nicolevoorhout- ohhhhhhh, I feel for you. I would've been really upset if I missed his last tour. As it was, when he was here in Tampa, the show sold out so fast, I didn't get a ticket, and then a few days later they added a second show, and I got really good seats (this was where I had touched his hand). I can't wait until the next tour.... I already told DH that if he plays more than one show in Florida (whereever it might be), I'm going to more than one concert.

Wow.. this is cool...so now we have a Floridian, a Canadian, an Australian, and a Washingtonian.

Ok... well today I've got a lot of stuff around the house to do - we're having a sushi party on Sunday (I took a sushi making class, so now we make it all the time - even my 2 & 4 yo eat sushi (not the raw stuff))

I'm off to eat my special k cereal -

Here's to a good day!

Well, I hadn't been there in over a year. It's about an hour from our house (we live pretty far out) so we don't go out to chain restaurants quite as much...but I was kinda disappointed because they didn't have the dish I wanted, Chicken Giardino. It's actually a "diet" dish. It was pasta, mixed veggies and grilled chicken tossed in oil with italian spices and such. It was really good but lower in fat and a smaller portion. I wouldn't have felt as bad going if I'd have been able to get that icon_sad.gif

That's funny you were pregnant at the show. When he had the Bounce tour in 2003, I went to that one while I was 7 months pregnant.

I loooove olive garden. Back when I was working, we used to go there for the soup, salad and breadstick deal. I could eat a mountain of their salad.

My kids were really, really bad yesterday (they are 2 and 4), and I had to throw away half of a 9 x 13 pan of brownies to keep myself from binging on them. I ate cauliflower instead.

My eating when mad/upset must be fairly evident, b/c a couple of nights ago my dh was annoyed about something and Lily (4 y/o) brought dh a bag of tostitos and said "Here, daddy, this will make your mad go away."

I did that once when I was on a diet & it happened to be our anniversary so my DH took me out to dinner to this small classy restaurant So I ended up ordering a piece of salmon grilled with no oil or anthing with a side salad... Let me tell you something , I willl never do that again, It was my first time trying salmon & I had to add tons & tons of lemon to it & it still did not taste good as for the side salad I ordered it was weeds on a plate also gross, needless too say neither one of us enjoyed the dinner as I did not like it but I tried to eat it & my DH was trying soo hard for me to have a good night. My point to this story is if you normally don't go out to dinner, enjoy what you are having at least for the main course & maybe skip dessert icon_rolleyes.gif We hardly ever go out to dinner even less by ourselves.. So if you are in the same boat where you don't get to go out very often as least make it worth it, nothing worse than waiting soo long for it & not enjoying it.

Hope you have a good day thumbs_up.gif

I remember that deal. It was like $4.99 for that or something, right? I used to work there...a long, long time ago, before my kids or husband were even thought of. That was a really popular item at lunch time. Their soups are so under appreciated otherwise because people always end up getting the salad with their meals but all their soups are really very good.

It was so popular though, that there were some crooked waiters that would save the receipts from one table and use them at the next instead of ringing them up. Since they were a self-serve item for the waiters (didn't have to order from the kitchen), they didn't need to type it in to get what they wanted. So, instead of giving $5 to the waiter and a couple bucks as tip, you were really giving the waiter that $5, plus the tip. I bet they made a whole lot of money that way. Always check your receipts for the date/time and you'll know. It doesn't necessarily hurt the customer in the short run but it sure is dishonest to the restaurant. Maybe they've made it so the soup has to be ordered now, I don't know. A couple waiters were fired for it though.

oh but it was a good dish besides being diet-friendly though. I loved that dish. It had carrots, zucchini, squash, tomatoes...all that tossed in there. It was really, truly good. When I go out, I usually get something made with grilled chicken though. Its not real fattening but it still tastes good icon_smile.gif The dish I opted for since they didn't have the chicken giardino was grilled chicken and broccoli pasta, which would have been good for a diet except that it had a cream sauch icon_redface.gif

Well this just sucks. It's my second week, I ran 5 miles or more 4x this past week, stuck to the Weight Watchers plan, and gained a pound. Grrr. I wonder if I should cut back on the points WW allows. I don't know. I'm down 4 pounds in 2 weeks, so I guess it's okay, but it stinks to gain a pound.

Sorry I really can't help as I'm really not sure what WW allows...
Drink lots & lots of water & stick to protein & vegatables & the weight should come down faster? icon_confused.gif

I'm going to *try* to run Mon/Wed/Fri this week, and hit spinning classes on Tues/Thurs nights. If that doesn't work, then I'm jsut hopeless. DH says that I have "lost in the woods syndrome". He says that when you diet your body kind of goes into preservation mode and hold onto the weight b/c it thinks that you are lost in the woods or having a crisis, then it realizes that it can burn fat and adjusts, and you start to lose weight. This comes from the man who can drop 25# at the drop of a hat. He makes me sick!

Good job on the weight loss ladies! It is so hard. It has taken me 6 months to lose 25 lbs. I'm not going back now though. I still want to lose another 50. I am trying to change my lifestyle because that is really the best way to guarantee that you will keep it off. I'm just cutting back on calories and I do allow myself 1 cheat day a week. It's a slow road for me but I know I'll be able to keep it off.

Hello everyone! This is one topic I wanted to bring up. How do you deal with your baking passion without letting it get the best of you???? Congratulations to everyone on their weight loss AND for their efforts. Losing weight is VERY hard work, but well worth it. My husband and I have been using the body for life and eating for life weight loss plan. It balances protein and carbs in each meal, gives you 6 'meals' a day and allows for one cheat day (it may be hard to stop, but it gives you something to look forward to at the end of the week). It has been slow going, but I have lost 12 lbs and my husband has lost over 24 lbs. The only time we have to work out is in the morning. So we dusted off the old treadmill and purchased a small set of dumbbells. Believe it or not, you can get a pretty good workout with dumbbells. I just want to say that sticking to your diet and workout plan is a great achievement. Don't give up! Even a 1lb weight loss is an achievement. Your body will fight you and you may hit a brick wall. You will just have to push past the plateau. Eventually you will break through. Keep up the great work! icon_lol.gif
