I was wondering if you can mold parts ahead of time and let dry like you do with fondant. I have to make 24 firehelmet cupcakes and was wondering if I should use the buttercream rather than the fondant since it is for a 5 yr olds b'day.

Sorry, I don't know but here is a bump up the list.

I've used rolled buttercream before for cookies, and it won't really mold and hold its shape the way that fondant does, and it also won't dry hard. So . . . I'm thinking that it might not hold a helmet form.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. I will get on making some fondant! icon_wink.gif
