My friend from Highschool is getting married next weekend and I haven't seen her in about two years. We are throwing her a shower Thursday night for all us girls from back then. I am planning to make the cake. There will be about 15 people there, So I was thinkng a 8 or 9" round. So my question is Should I use her wedding colors for the decorations. I just can't picture them together looking good icon_confused.gif The colors are yellow, aqua, and white. Maybe I should just do white and aqua or just all white?? What should i do? I am planning on doing a white chocolate monogram on top. I don't want to make it too fancy.

I think it won't matter what you choose, the colors won't be directly compared to the wedding colors. If you have an invitation for the shower, you could accent your cake with one of those colors.

When in doubt, there is nothing wrong with all white.

I second the motion to match the invites. She will have plenty of time with her wedding colors, and the cake will look much better if it matches the shower decorations!!!

I agree with matching the shower invites/decorations. If that isn't an option for whatever reason, you can't go wrong with all white, just as JoAnnB mentioned.

I also agree to just match the invites/decorations. The monogram is a nice touch.

I can't even imagine how yellow, aqua and white will look together. I would go with the invites too. : )

No invitations were sent. It is going to be very casual. just us girls from highschool The hostess just called everyone. It is just kinda impromptu (spelling?). AND on a Thursday night of all times.

If there are no invites, I imagine there will still be some kind of decorations or theme, - so go with matching those.

Hey..it's the shower, not the wedding. Kinda a mini reunion! I'd go with something fun from HS. Did she have a car that gave her fits? What is something that stands out in your mind when you think of her and HS?? When I think waaayyyy back to HS and certain people, an event or something really hilarious comes to mind. I bet you have a treasure chest of memories to gleen from.

Oh, have fun with this!!

My suggestion is to decorate the cake all white and maybe get some fresh flowers to put in vases on the table around the cake (that matches her colors).....her colors almost make it sound like an ocean theme.....

Good luck and have fun at your "reunion"...
