My oven's element just died! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I have wedding cake layers to bake tomorrow for this weekend, and I can't even figure out if there is a local place to buy a replacement! I don't know what to do!

Neighbor? Mother? Sister?

No neighbors are kosher. No relatives nearby. One Rabbi out of town (or I could use his), the other Rabbi's wife does major cooking tomorrow. I don't know what to do.

Is there a Rent a Center in your area? They rent just about anything you can use in a home.

Find the model number and such on your stove and look in the yellow pages of the phonebook for appliance parts and repair. Call a few and ask about elements and tell them the make, model, etc of your stove and they'll tell you if they have a replacement. Most elecetric elements require a screwdriver to replace an element. Unscrew the old and screw in the new. Cost should be minimal and take about 15 mintues not including the drive time to get the element. Oh yeah, be sure the power to the stove is off or it is unplugged.

Ohhh no! I had this exact problem a while back. I had to pack up all my stuff and bake at SIL's house. Good luck! I hope you find an oven.
