I am making my sil's birthday cake for tomorrow. I was thinking of using the recipe on this site called Whipped Cream Butter Cream. I am assuming that this is non-crusting and I am wondering if I will be able to get a nice smooth surface with it. It will be an 11x15 with a FBCT on one half and wording on the other half. Does anyone have any experience with this icing??
Thanks

I used this icing once before and the main thing I didn't like about it is that I was not able to get it very smooth. But I've ready other people's posts and have seen their pics and they can get it to look great. Just in my experience, I have better luck smoothing traditional BC. And yes, it is non-crusting.

If you add meringue powder it should crust. I usally add about 1tbsp per 1lb of powdered sugar, which is the same ratio as Wilton.
