Hey guys I need help! How do you guys fill your cupcakes? Do you use that bismarck tip thingy or something else? I got one of them and it just seems like it wouldn't put enough filling in the cupcake. Thanks for any help you can give!!

I have always just used the large star tip. It works well for filling them but leaves a larger hole in the top. Ok with me, just means more frosting icon_smile.gif!

I have always just used a large star tip and filled until the cupcake swells!

I learned a neat trick from Autumn Carpenter, of Country Kitchens, about filling cupcakes; use an apple corer, go right down the middle of the cupcake, pull out the cake and fill, using a pastry bag and tip 12, almost to the top. Cut off a tiny piece of the portion removed and replace on the cupcake to cover the filling........ thats it... how easy, huh? and you get lots of filling...... yummy

If you want a lot of icing, I have used an apple corer and then you can fill the hole with any tip..it makes a larger hole, but on another note I have been told that that just makes too much icing for a cupcake. I do use the bismark tip.
Hope this helps!

I now use the bismark tip and I think it works great, but in the past I would just you my tip #12 and that works just as well.

Ugh...it ate my post.

I guess the bismark tip is what I use - the one with the Wilton cupcake kit.

I just fill in 3 spots around the cupcake rather than in the center. I like lots of filling too! My cupcakes tend to puff up and/or crack cause of all the filling I put in!

Duh, why didn't I think of that?! I will try that, putting it in more than one place. Thanks!

This is what I do too.. it works very well. I just use a #12 round tip.. the bizmark tip is nice, but thicker fillings won't flow through it as easily.

My fillings are too thick for the bismark tip so I just cut out a little circle in middle of the cupcake and save it for the "lid" and fill with a large star tip. Then I put the little "lid" on top of the hole. The lid is just the top crust of the cupcake, I dont cut far into the cupcake.
