Still working on the design for a bridal shower cake, and I am so stupid when it comes to color/design combinations... icon_redface.gif .... How does this sound: a shell cake on top of a 16" square (angled in the corner).... icing the shell in a light ivory buttercream, with small ruffle along the shell bottom edge......the square covered in a light blue buttercream, with writing on the top and shell borders (top and bottom edge), all in the light ivory color.

My other choice was to do everything in the light ivory color, and sprinkle blue sanding sugar on the top. Can you tell I am having a hard time picturing this in my mind? icon_sad.gif Opinions/suggestions, please!

the sanding sugar might be nice, provided you can keep it where you want it, and the icing isn't wet enough to melt the sugar.

It can add a nice sparkle to a cake.

I vote for the all ivory with blue sanding sugar too.
