OMG! I thought they were all FDA approved and edible! I'm so glad I've used it in my flower spray only. Whew! I wanted to use luster duster for my next whimsical cake, but I now hesitate. So does this mean pearl dust is not FDA approved for consumption? Where can I find the information about this and print it out for me to have it handy for reference. ![]()
If you go to http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/coloring/dusts.htm
they have FDA approved dusts but if look at luster, pearl and petal they ones with "*" can not be used on cakes for decorative pupose. The other are Non-toxic.
two or more of the following Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Carmine, Mica. Please NOTE: those colors indicated by * contain Iron Blue or Chromium Oxide and must be labeled "for decorative use only" - usually these are certain blues and greens.
So, I get petal dust and mix with some pearl works great.
If you go down all the way their lots of helpful tips on how to use.
