I know you can make 1/2 choc 1/2 white cake but how do you do it???? Shove two together and pray it doesn't "dip" in the middle or bake two flavors in one pan without batters running together?

Try searching the forums. I know this has been discussed. Something about making a foil dam inthe middle of the pan and then once the batters are in removing it then baking.

I bake them separately and then glue the two halves together with icing when I am ready to decorate.

I bake them both in the same pan, pouring the batter from both sides and letting them meet in the middle. There is a special divider that you can get for cake pans that you pour the batter in both sides and then take the divider out, but I don't see it as something anyone needs to buy. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have one of those flimsy plastic cutting mats I use just for these kinds of cakes. I bought mine at the dollar store and just cut it to make it easier to hold while pouring. I just pour one side while holding the mat, then pour the other side. I do find that my chocolate cakes rise more than my white but it's no big deal I just trim it.
