I used a butter golden cake mix with liquid creamer instead of water, pudding mix and an extra egg. My cake sank in the middle and didn't really rise. Is it the creamer, or just the additional ingredients?

Sooooo disappointed!

what brand did you use?? Adding pudding to BC or Pillsbury makes them too wet because they already have pudding, lots of info in the CMD about this. I only use DH when adding pudding.

Yes, it is most likely the creamer. I had the same thing happen when I replaced ALL of the the water with creamer. You have to start off with a small amount of creamer and mostly water, possibly even half creamer and half water, but definitely do not replace all the water!

Same thing happened to me the one time I tried the creamer. I did use a Duncan Hines cake mix to start with. It not only sank, and didn't rise - it also stuck real bad to a very well greased pan. Made great cake balls though!!LOl!!

I'll just stick to my regular recipes from now on.

Thanks guys. It was a DH mix. I'll try to just use half the creamer.

Suzy- I already stuck the cake in the freezer for my next batch of cake balls! YUM! A happy mistake!
