I'm making my first wedding cake next week and here is the pic of my "inspiration" My little brother is getting married in January and he's asked me to make something like this so I'm just going to make several from now until then to make it perfect. Anyways, can anyone tell me what size pans and how many layers might be in each of these? Also if anyone wants to give me any pointers on how to make this I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

(Oh, I found this cake on www.bakemeacake.net)

What sizes they are will be determined by how many people you want to feed. Then the cake can be adjusted from what is in the photo.

As for the height my guess is they are 2-2" cakes in each tier. So then you would have some sort of filling in the middle - either buttercream or anything else you wanted.

Looks like a 6 9 12 16 to me. Looks like 3 inches between the 6-9 and 9-12 but 4 inchec between the 12-16.

I agree, 2 2inches layers per teir with filling in the middle.

Just going strictly by the picture, it looks as though each tier might be 3" difference...so they could be 6-9-12-15 (or 16) but that is just a guess.....

A 6-9-12 will serve around 100 people...depends on how many people are coming...then you can decide how many tiers/how big etc you want them...

I just took another look and the tiers look shorter than what I make ...mine are 4" so these just might be 3" cakes that are torted into 3 layers per tier...that would be my updated guess....

I love the look of that cake and want to do something similar, but I don't know how to do that quilted texture that appears on the bottom and third layer of the cake pictured. Can anyone give me pointers?
Thanks!

You need to find out how many servings first, then adjust from there.......I agree that there are 3-4 inches in diameter difference on each and they are about 4" high.

NevynsAngel:
The "quilted" pattern is done with a diamond impression mat and can be used on fondant or any crusting BC or CC............just press into the sides to make the impression and add edible pearls to the points.........
