OK, so I know this is nowhere near what everyone else here is capable of but I am coming along slowly. Anyway, my 9 year old grandson loved it. He had 9 boys sleep over for his birthday; that's his sister and their doggie on bottom bunk. He said there was only one thing wrong with it - no one was going to be sleeping.
I forgot to bring the bag of chocolate bc to cover top cake board once assembled.
Thanks, Doug, for your help.
Great job!!! What a cute idea...
If you're just starting out, BOY, what talent already shining through...
Keep up the good work
I think the bunkbeds are absolutely adoreable, and I am sure your grandson loved it.
Now, about your comment regarding your capabilities -- Isn't it funny how we are always our own worst critics? Rembember, we all start at the beginning, and with time and practice, we all end up at the same destination.
Keep up the good work.
Theresa
This is superb! Ive said this before but these are some seriously cool childhood memories we are making here people! Your grandson will remember it when he is an old man!
My Mum was never a great cake decorator but I remember being home from school sick and waking up from my afternoon nap to a banana loaf with icing and a plastic ballerina in to top right next to my bed. A warm fuzzy memory I will remember till the day I die.
What a cool grandma!
Absolutely adorable!!! Just a question, what is holding up the top bunk? Is it a chocolate bar??? Just curious. Anyways, great job!!!
They are two half pound hershey bars anchored in styrofoam (the green floor/rug). Thanks all for your comments.
Wow! So 2 large chocolate bars are strong enough to hold that top cake?? I would NEVER have thought that! How big is the top cake? Looks to be about 6" or so?
This is just sOOOOOOO cute. I will have to keep that in mind. I know a couple of girls that would just love this cake!!! If you could pm me the instructions I would love to have them.
The cakes are only single layer 8.5" x 6.5" - not very heavy and not very big. Bottom layer was cut down to fit under top.
