Just thought I'd share.... So, last week I had two weddings on one day. I needed two four tiered dummies fully decorated (with a top tier of cheesecake for pics and cutting) and 24- 10" cheesecakes. Here it was Thursday afternoon and I was set to bake. I went to turn on my KitchenAid 5 qt. mixer and nothing. I unplugged it and turned it on again. Nothing. At this point I burst into tears as just the week before I had my oven in my cheesecake kitchen go on me. So, I got out my hand mixer and began to try and make 24 cheesecakes with it. It was at this point that my 15 y.o. daughter came upstairs and saw what I was doing (and saw I was bawling). She asked and I told her what had happened, reminding her of the oven that had passed away the week before. She shook her head and went back down stairs. A few minutes later my 16 y.o. daughter surfaced from the basement and said she was going to check out the neighbors garage sale. She was gone about five minutes when I heard the front door open and in comes my neighbor with the exact same mixer I have for me to borrow to get my work done... I again burst into tears. I managed to get all cheesecakes done in no time!!! I was so grateful to her and my daughters!!! What great neighbors we have. But, that is not the end of the story... Later that night (around 10 pm) my other neighbor showed up with a bottle of wine and said, "heard you had a bad day!". I was like "totally", eyeballing the wine and thinking I really could use a glass. Then I noticed her husband directly behind her and he was struggling with a rather large box... that said... KITCHENAID on the side. They said... we never got you and Gary a wedding present... so here it is. I burst into tears again and called for my hubby... who nearly burst into tears himself! They got us the Kitchenaid professional 6qt. OMG! I love that machine! God blessed me with wonderful friends... needless to say... they will never pay for cheesecake again!!! And for the first time in my life... I was speechless!!!
God has blessed you with wonderful friends! I am so happy for you! Your great story brought tears to my eyes too ![]()

WOOOWWW-What wonderful neighbors! You must live in Iowa.
People in these parts are just not like they used to be back home!
What a terrific story. When I am having a bad day and thinking of all the bridezillas in this world, I am going to remember this story and know there are some great ones left!! Thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful story. You must be a very good friend and neighbor for them to do this for you. The Lord has blessed you with some caring friends. You are lucky.
The thoughts of doing two wedding cakes and 24 cheesecakes makes me shutter. Wow! I made one cheesecake yesterday and thought I was doing good in this heat.
