Can you give some details? What kind of cake (scratch, mix), fondant?, size of cake, and what are the pictures - edible images? Thanks!

Sorry... I forgot the details. It's an 8" cake covered in MMF. The pictures standing are gumpaste with and edible image. The pics around the cake are edible images on fondant. The cake is thee layers with butter cream filling. It took me forever! I wanted to throw it at the wall almost the entire time. I am happy with how it came out, but during the process I thought it was going to be a disaster.

Did you put a reverse of the same image on the back half of the standing pics? This is a really nice looking cake. I would also say around $65-75. I am not sure how much edible images cost, so my price may need adjustments.

Very neat idea.

Thank you all so much. I thought $40 was low after it took me forever to get this done. The up side is that I'll have a cute picture for my website.

I would say at least 70 for the cake. There is a lot of work in that cake so you need to charge for it.

Great idea and cake. Where did you come up with this idea?

I really appreciate all the nice compliments! Do you guys think that someone would actually pay that much for a cake like this? I feel it's worth that much because of all that went into making it, but customers don't usually think of that.

sundine2, the lady I did this for is a photographer and I did a cake with a stand up tinkerbell for her last year. She wanted to have her photos all around the cake and have some standing on the top (like the tinkerbell). Those little buggers were a pain to cut out!

Ditto me on that! I would charge NO LESS than $65. What a tribute to the family. Here, in California, I would charge $80 for that cake.

I love the unique idea. You did a fabulous job! Definitely one-of-a-kind quality and amazing creativity!!!

Congrats on a fab cake!
