what you really need to determine, is how many servings you'll need on the cake you will be recreating and then adjust your pan sizes from there. however, looking at the picture, to me, it seems that there is a 4" size difference from the last round tier, and the bottom square tier. so, i would say: 6,8,10, and 14 ...OR... 8,10,12 and 16
And my guess will be: 6/8/10 on a 14 square.
Agreed....the size of the roses on top (and filler) look too large on an 8" round. However, Melysa is right, you need to make your cake whatever size is required....not necessarily the size pictured.

i was thinking the same thing about the rose topper. i always look at the top tier and try to visualize it like a square... like if a cake's height is usually 4" tall average, then how much wider does it look.. i do lean towards it being a 6" round on top, but again, it just goes back to how many people they will need cake for, so its kind of irrelevant , unless this brides wants EXACTLY what is in the picture as long as it will feed everyone expected to be there, plus some.
