I wasn't aware that there WAS a flip-flop pan. I have seen people who made their own template by tracing an actual flip-flop onto cardboard and cutting their cake from that. HTH.

save your time and your money. i made this one by carving from a 10x10 square. i made a freehand template with a paper towel and carved with a serrated knife. it served about 20.

Hi ya'all

I need to make a flip cake to serve 25-30 guests. The cakes are to be the same flavor but different fillings. What pan would you suggest I use to carve the cakes out? I have a 12x12 square, 9x13 retangle, 9x9 square, and a 1/2 sheet cake pan but it is low (about 1 1/2 inch tall). Its going to be adorned in buttercream and fondant accents.

Should I use the 1/2 sheet cake? Do you think I could still get the height?

THANKS

I used a 9x13 to carve the flip flops, then put them on top of a 1/2 sheet cake. It was a lot of cake, but my niece wouldn't let anybody cut the flip flops, so it work out pretty good. icon_biggrin.gif
