Anyone have any ideas foe a syruo for my cakes -the kind you pour over it before you frost it?

I think my cake might be on the dry side and thought this might be the time to give it a try !!

Simple syrup is equal parts of water and sugar, bring it to a boil for about 5 minutes, then cool. You can then add flavorings. It isn't usually poured on. Use a pastry brush to just moisten the cake.

I like to use a small spray bottle to put it on. It goes on even and I don't have to worry about crumbs getting into it.

I use liquers in my simple syrup, so extract is probably the best option for you.
