I've tried searching the forums and nothing comes up which is weird cause I know it's out there somewhere....

Does anyone know of a picture tutorial or a video anywhere on the net of how to make these Hershey Kiss roses????

I bought two bags and we're down to one lol... so I wanna start practicing my roses now before they get eaten lol. I can always just drop the icing off them and let them eat them afterwards on the mess ups lol... But I've never been able to make a regular bc rose so I read that hershey kiss roses are easier... I just don't know where to start with them....

Thanks in advance!

Oh I love these Becky!!! Just do the roses on the nail with the hershey kisses like you would any other rose...the kiss will sit still unlike the middle of a bc middle icon_biggrin.gif . just put a dab of bc on the bottom of the kiss and work like that! I love it..I just never do roses that much icon_sad.gif

Have a great day Becky!

Thanks so much Christi! I wasn't sure if I was supposed to still use the flower nail or put a tooth pick in it... then I was worried that if I stuck a tooth pick in it it might break it in half lol... Thanks so much! Still hoping someone knows of a secret video or something icon_wink.gif I'm a better learner with pics and videos and stuffs then I am with text lol

oh I know I am to Becky and I have done this for awhile and my roses still suck...but I guess with practice (If I can ever get the time) it will get better. You could try to stick a toothpick in the bottom (not real far) or a small skewer.

And you are welcome
Oh get the white chocolate ones if you are doing a light color rose then the kiss won't show up as well

Becky, you do it EXACTLY the same as any other rose.... you just replace the center starting point with a "kiss" instead of the BC..... It is just more stable to work with than the glob of BC in the middle....

Glad to see you Grama_j I love your cakes! And I agree with the more stable part icon_smile.gif just seems to be easier to work with the kisses because the middle of a all bc rose wants to fall on me icon_sad.gif

I used a toothpick when I made mine then just stuck them styrafoam to dry, if you don't have any styrafoam you could use and egg carton. You can also buy the Kissables and make smaller roses. Good luck!

Can you use the hersey kiss for royal icing roses??? I made a lot of roses a couple weeks ago. I thought about trying it, and now I will try it for my sister's cake in two weeks.

Thanks for the info!! thumbs_up.gif

I'm sure you can I just would think you'd want it to be completely edible since you're going to be wasting a great deal of money on the kisses if they are just thrown away with the rock hard RI petals still attached.... I think it's a great idea to do the HK Roses because it gives them a surprise special treat inside lol that they aren't expecting.... but with RI roses you can't eat that... well you can but it's HARD lol

I have used the hershey kisses and they are awesome to work with. I absolutely love making roses although my hand usually hurts afterwards. Most of the time I have to make them normal because the kiesses always seem to disappear...I wonder what happens to them... I know it it probably the Hershey Kiss Fairy...

Yall are too funny! Someone icon_rolleyes.gif opened the "roses only" bag of kisses yesterday icon_redface.gif but there seems to be ALOT left in there so I'm going to practice today. I wanted to thank you all for your help so far and I also wanted to ask if anyone has any tutorials or photos of the step by step process it would be extra helpful for me. Thanks again all! icon_smile.gif

This is such an amazing forum! I never in my wildest dreams thought about using a HK for the center of a rose. I love roses, and at times mine do come out ok, but I always hated having two bags to achieve a nice rose. I can't wait to try this. I don't do roses very often now. I'll just have to make myself a cake or throw a few in somewhere. Thanks for bringing this up!

i hadn't seen it before and thought it was cute
they look great too

This link may give you a video/picture instructions. Somewhere on this board too, some posted about using other types of candies as rose centers
