I am making a cake this weekend and covering it with fondant. I've read that Wilton is the worst to use, although it is all I can find in the area. I've used it in the past and really don't like the way it tasted, but don't have time to order Satin Ice. Any suggestions?

Yes two suggestions, make MMF recipe found on this website or get some candy flavoring and add a drop or two to the Wilton. I recommend the first.

I too started out with Wilton fondant but I can't stand the smell or taste. The first time I made MMF is couldn't believe how easy it was & the taste was amazing. I now ONLY use MMF.
Have some some & try a batch of MMF and see if you like it.

Why don´t you try to make ahe citric fondant, it tastes goook. but only use 1 1/2 pounds of sugar, and let the fondant rest for 30 minutes, is still is very soft add sugar little by little. You have to use poudered sugar without cornstarch for better results. Grace
