Ok it may not be new as I am sure someone has thought of it, but I took the mini-pumpkin pan, coated it with orange candy-melt - in the fridge to set up - then push in my cakeball (my usual 1" size fits well) to fit almost to the top, then coat again with candymelts to make a solid bottom. So what do you think? I rarely do candies, so I have to figure out how to better coat the pan to get an even coating the first time, but think this would be a great seller for the holiday!

That is an excellent idea. I'd thought of doing something similar with my candy molds, but I think the pan would work better (good to know it's good for something...the muffins I made in it last year tasted fine but didn't look like pumpkins! WAH!)

Wow that's a great idea, can't get orange coloured candymelts here, but I've got the minighost pan, white choc should do the trick. Thanks

What a great idea!! I've always thought that pan was so cute, but never bought it because I didn't think I would use it. Now I have to go out and get it. Good thing I've got Michael's coupons this week!!

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. Now I have to work on being able to spread the candymelts more evenly in the pans (any suggestions?) and try to figure out what the heck to charge for them! icon_rolleyes.gif

Bodaisy, I happened to have a bag of cakeballs in the freezer from a cake that fell apart and I never finished coating the balls (my sons love them), and just made one as an experiment. Once defrosted, I could shape it into the hardened candymelt. What a great idea, spongebob cakeballs! You will have to post a picture if you try that!

I just turned everyone at work onto cake balls (one of the guys said my coconut ones were like donut holes on steroids! hahaha)

What a great idea!!! Is that a wilton pan? I have never seen mini pans like that before!
