This was my first ICES and was everything I hoped for and more. I too picked up Roland Winbecklers airbrush. I couldn't resist!

I must of spent a fortune at Nick Lodge's booth and Global Sugar Art and I picked up some pans from a company in Puerto Rico (El Mundo Repostria), really awesome stuff. I also saw Fat Daddios pans there which was cool since I had recently bought some from my local supply shop and I love them. They had a whole bunch of new shapes and the turntable they had was SO COOOOOL! If I hadn't already over shot the budget, I would have walked away with one of those and the set of comma pans they had. Really great pans and my girlfriend was in love with one of the guys there, totally cute!! Did anybody see the topsy turvy pans that were there from some company in Florida? I had their info and REALLY want those pans but I lost it. AAAAAUUGGHHH!!

I heard alot of people complain that the attendance was down and that alot of the sellers were not there. I also heard that most people were holding out for next year in Orlando. All I have to say is if it is better than this year, I CAN'T WAIT until next year!!!!!

Welcome Cakesbylee! You'll have to let us know more about that airbrush - did you get the expensive full kit or the less expensive one?

I spent a ton at Global Sugar Art too - now I just need to find some time to use all my fun cool new tools and ideas!

I loved the guy from Fat Daddio's. The tall brown headed one. He was a cutie. He explained all about his inventions. I wound up getting 3 free pans from him & I did buy the turntable! Thanks to my friend Trudy.. she helped me lug it through the airport in her luggage! icon_smile.gif I can't wait to use it~

I wanted the airbrush system really bad!! icon_sad.gif Maybe next year!

Where's twindee's??? Anyone heard from her? Fixin' to PM her. icon_smile.gif

CakesbyLee I got Roland's airbrush too. Have you tried it out yet? I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'm going to get together with another CC member so we can prctice as she just got a airbrush and hasn't used it yet either.

Did anyone try Dixie's buttercream frosting? I really liked the taste of it. I'm going to get some tomorrow to use on a cake Monday and see how it works out.

Was Dixie's BC the one where she had peanutbutter cake & she also mixed it with creamcheese? If so then yep, I liked it! It was delicious. I liked it mixed w/ creamcheese the best.

Yes, that is Dixie's BC. I just got Vanilla, Chocolate, and Red. There are instructions on the label to add peanut butter, fruit, cream cheese, etc. icon_biggrin.gif I just love that stuff and it's so much easier then making my own. She even offered to show Julie and I how to use our new airburshes! icon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gif She teaches classes at Metro Community College here so we're going to sign up icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

I only tasted the creamcheese/bc & it was delicious! I could eat it like icecream icon_lol.gif That was very nice of her to say she'd teach you the airbrush! Take her up on her offer for sure thumbs_up.gif I wanted an airbrush system so bad! How much did you end up paying for it? I was kinda aggravated w/ Roland Windbeckler because I took his writing class & it was really bad. I didn't learn a thing & couldn't see what he was doing at all. Soooo I didn't even want to go near his booth. thumbsdown.gif I guess I should have. Everyone was raving about his airbrush system. You'll have to keep us up to date on how you like it. There's always next year icon_smile.gif

I did get the deluxe airbrush from Winbeckler and used it for the first time this weekend. I had to work with it for about a half-day because I was having all kinds of problem with spattering and the color flow, but seemed to work it out okay. I think I am going to love this thing!!

I tried the Dixies icing but was hoping to hear some feedback from others who have used it. I kind of get nervous when I change my tried and true recipes. What has been everyones experience with it?

Also, did not buy the stress free supports and was wondering if anyone had and what they thought about them? I am pretty intrigued by them.

Now about that guy at Fat Daddios cake pans...I noticed he had a wedding ring on...which I found great in a way because at least I knew he was into women. I love it to find a guy who is straight and totally into what I do. Not alot of straight men in cakes...oh well, enough of that I guess...

For anyone that was at ICES, I lost my info on the company that had the huge display of cake stands. Does anyone remember their name? They were in the middle of the hall and had a ton of different stands...HELP!

www.suppliesforcakes.com The whimsy set is not on the site, so you have to call them.

Cakesbylee

I have had the stress-free support system for years now and love them. Don't know what I would do without them. Arlene Haas is the wonderful lady that designed these. You can either purchase thru her website or thru Earlene Moore's website.

Hope that helps--Pam

Hmmm....I probably can't reveal so much yet! But we have the dates and everything, it's at the Contemporary's convention center, and I know that the FL attendees to this year's convention had their eyes open for things they wanted to bring to FL! We're working hard and have experienced ICES members on the team so I know it'll be fantastic.

Please, whatever you--do not adjust the temp in the cake room--leave it cold for the sake of the cakes!

I was able to dry out my boot and it is sitting proudly atop my Lone Star cake. BTW--Nebraska--our heat index will be OVER 100 today and the humidity--HORRIBLE!

Did ya'll get rain yesterday--the news here showed some pretty thick radar stuff around Omaha!

As far as the humidity there, I just know that I could breathe in Omaha--here, it sucks the air out of ya. And I didn't break a sweat there--Heck, I may move to NE!

It's rained for 3 days icon_cry.gif and I haven't been able to breath for a week! icon_sad.gif I'm beyond sweating..........it's more like a faucet. I've never seen humidity this bad here. At least I know it will bet better and it doesn't happen to often.

Move on up Mac, I have a house for sale and could make you a deal without a realtor icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
