Ok here's the scoop...

I have a KA Accolade 400 series mixer. I've been looking for a pouring shield for months, and finally found a store that sells them...Woohoo!! That's a good thing right??? Well, I decided to purchase another bowl and another wire whip while I was there and guess what I found out???

My mixer is no longer in the catalog!! I can't get replacement parts for it unless I go to a site that can special order them for me......and they are not easy to find!!!! I was able to use the guard, they are made for all the tilt mixers...but the bowl...that's another story!

I spent $50 on it, and traveled to OR to buy it. There's a great outlet mall there in Troutdale, near the gorge...LOVE IT!!! But it's also a 3 hour ride there!! One way!

Well, I ended up finding both on Amazon.com, and purchased them(they'll be here on August 1st. But I have to make a trip back to OR to return the one that I bought! Oh brother!!

And.......I discovered that the store there also has the 600 professional!!! Lots of them!! For only $200.00!!!!! GRRRR!!!! Why didn't I know about them 6 months ago!!!!???

So if anyone else is close to Troutdale outlet mall, and are looking for a KA.....get there!!! Kitchen Collections is the name of the store. I will be going there again one day when I am ready to "upgrade".....(in my dreams!!! LOL)

In the meantime, I just hope I am able to keep finding parts for my apparently "discontinued" model........... icon_sad.gificon_cry.gificon_wink.gif

Are the 600 pro KA's reconditioned ones? Did you try calling KA in Greenville OH? They ship out the very day you order it.

OMG.....I was just at a Kitchen Collections store at the Jeffersonville outlet malls in Ohio and I also saw the 600 Pro's for only $249! I thought I was seeing things and even doubted myself after I left! I called them they are NOT refurbed units! Even if they were that's a great deal! The 600 I have now is refurbed and I've had it for over 10 years! How on earch are they selling them for that price! As soon as I can I'm going to get one! I just bought a 5 qt (the ones on sale), but I would love another 600!

Isn't there a Kitchenaid store in the Centralia Outlet Mall? I think it is Kitchen Collections too. At least it would be closer than Troutdale.

Although I called and they said they were not refurbs I'm sure they are at that price....they probably just didn't understand what I meant! No problemo....as I've had a refurb for over 10 years and have had zero problems!

Cambo, thanks for the heads up on a Kitchen Collections in Ohio. I didn't realize there was more than one! Duh!

I was just in Denver and went to the outlet malls in Silverthorne (I think that's the name). I bought a mat to use with fondant for $4.99! It worked soooo well. Can't wait to get back there, now just have to find Jeffersonville!

Edited to add that I just did a store search and there are 12 Kitchen Collection stores within 50 miles of me! I'm such a dork.

I'm near Akron. That sounds a bit far, but now that I know the store is nation-wide, I found a few that are within 30 minutes of me. Woohoo!! Can't wait to start making a Christmas list. icon_smile.gif
