I am making a chocolate cake filled w/strawberries with a buttercream frosting also choc. covered strawberries on top. I would like to put a chocolate ganache on top. Does anyone have a good recipe for ganache? also will it melt the buttercream? Thank You

ganache is typically, equal parts of chocolate and heavy cream, with a bit of butter. I add a couple of tablespoons to a pound of chocolate and two cups of cream.

you need to let the ganache cool, before you pour it on your cake. If it is too thick, you can add some warm cream to thin it-1/4 cup or so.

I really like ChefTaz recipe for ganache from here. It has a very shiny appearance.
