Thanks for the link to the video. That was pretty cool. I wish I could stack them as easily as she did!!
Wow, and she piped the flowers directly on the cake. I know I couldn't do that without messing up the icing on the cake top.
Thanks for the link. What a great video. Now If I could only get my cakes so even and smooth.
This is a good one. Good to save the link to refer others to since this question is asked so often.
wow thanks for the heads up...seems you tube also has a ton more wedding cake how to's...lol there was even one with the swedish chef from the muppets
Here's another excellent video for assembling, stacking and decorating a three tier wedding cake:

Hey, I keep seeing Duff stack cakes, and it doesn't appear that he is using any support. Do you have to use support/dowels on multiple cakes if they are all the same size? (i.e., last night, I saw about 8-10 layers of 12" squares, and the looked like they were all on top of each other, without any support...)
<S>
Thanks for these links. It is helpful to watch someone demonstrate this rather than just looking at pictures. It will be good to use these as references in the future! Thanks!
HAHAHAHA!!!
This one makes me laugh...
I wanted to reach through the screen and show them how it's done.
I cant believe how they only use a few dowels or even straws,, I had one disaster and now I use hidden pillars and dowel like I was holding up a bridge...Im so afraid of another disaster while transporting.. I would love to have the confidence to try straws.
Thanks for the links! Very helpful!
Starkie, I think you always have to use support when stacking cakes even if they are the same size.

Ok, this is William Sledd - from ask a gay guy....he is hilarious! I have been watching him for over a year - he does a video blog on fashion......if you want to wet yourself, watch the denim edition. Has nothing whatsoever to do with cake but he & his friend are so funny talking about carpenter jeans & stuff.....
I have found a bunch of really helpful videos on youtube and some are sort of a joke but I get a kick out of 'em all......
Great video, thanks for sharing. I love the way the flowers were done with the color variations.
Adding to those wonderful cakes.. Check it out.. No more paper and pencil in designing a cake!!!!

Loved it! I just love his 'OMG, I got egg/icing/etc on me!'...sounds just like me!
I thought they were great. I was shocked to see how William's cake turned out, not bad, if it stood up straight. I always wondered what my tier cake would come out looking like and I think William would probably do better than I would, lol but honestly speaking how many people actually would make home made cake before using a box mix or does it depend on the occasion?
