icon_eek.gif Ok I was thinking she is crazy for using straws. icon_eek.gif I guess I'm a rather safe than sorry person. I wouldn't use the straws unless I didn't have anything else. I've been using the round plastic dowels where the feet of the plate fits in them because everything stay in place with them. Call me a whimp if you want!

2 points...the straws to me are unstable...it doesnt take much for them to fold. especially if the cakes are on the heavier side. i would suggest using the hidden pillars or the dowels.

the piping on the cake looked really interesting. i have seen somone on tv..pipe directly on the cake. i dont know if i would be able to find it online.

to the cc member who said duff doesnt use suppports...he has to...the one time that Jeff didnt use supports the cake crumbled on them. but because the show isnt really a teaching show they dont show every step of the cake decorating. so we dont always see when he adds the dowels but he does.
