Help--Chocolate Allergy Question

Does anyone know if someone is allergic to chocolate could they eat white chocolate? It doesn't appear to actually be chocolate, but I have to make sure. We're having a ladies retreat at church this sat. and the theme is "Chocolate Boutique" so everything is centered around chocolate. I have been told that there are 2 people w/chocolate allergies. I'm responsible for the desserts and would like to have something available that won't make these ladies feel isolated if they have to have something different. Thx
I can only speak from experience - my husband is severely allergic to chocolate. But he can eat white chocolate. I believe his allergy has more to do with something in the cocoa itself rather than the cocoa butter (which is what white chocolate is made from)
His is pretty severe, it closes off his airways. Stupid man, he refuses to not eat the stuff... and then he starts hacking and coughing. (His bee allergy is much more life threatening!)
Yes, I have had a chocolate allergy customer too, and she could eat white chocolate just not milk or dark choc.
Thanks you all. I'm going to make a white chocolate cheesecake. I'll just find out who these ladies are and keep my eye out to see if they are holding back. The desserts are going to be displayed with cute little cards indicating what they are. If they don't participate, then I'll let them know that we have something for them.I'll have ice cream or something.
Thx again for all your help
Lisa
