This is the cake I'm doing for this weekend... and while they look like real ribbons, they're fondant... how would you adhere them to the cake? This is the first one I've done like this, so I'd realllllly appreciate any help/advice!!

You can use either bc, ri, water, or piping gel. All have been known to work. I believe that most use bc or ri to make the ribbon stay.

very pretty cake. I have used the vanilla extract to stick fondant on cake. It woks well by using a little brush and brush on ribbon or cake and attach. It tends to work like a glue and be sticky.

I'd use royal icing myself - it looks lovely!

I've always used water. Dip a small paintbrush in water and brush the back of the ribbon. I always do a little at a time - then adhere it to the cake, then brush a little more, adhere, etc. until I'm done. The water is great to make any seams disappear too. I've found this to be easier than wetting the cake or wetting the entire ribbon.
