I need some help right away! I'm making cake balls and I tried to thin my chocloate out a bit and added some clear corn syrup and now it's too thick! How do I thin it out?

Unfortunately at this point you are on your way to making modeling chocolate. Adding corn syrup to chocolate makes it thick and there is no return from there. What exactly are you trying to do with the chocolate? I mean why the corn syrup?

Sorry, I went back and reread your post and realized that you were trying to thin out your chocolate. The best thing to add is palm kernal crystals (also know as paramount wax); if you can get those, or small amounts of crisco shortening, not oil.

Yup, you're going to have to start a new batch of those.

If you have enough to do that and you find it's still thickening a bit, I usually try adding a bit of fresh chocolate, and that usually helps -- if you don't have the palm oil.

I added a ton of more chocolate and some margarine and it thinned it out some but it's definately not as good as the first ones..... at least I have a supportive hubby who will happily eat all the "mistakes"!
I think I'm just too tired. I'll stop now and try again in the morning! Thanks for all your help!
