? On Chocolate Ganache

I want to make a cake with BCor whipped BC not sure but i do know i would like to put the ganache on top w/ chocolate covered strawberries. Do you let the ganache cool first or put on warm so it will flow down the sides? Will it melt the buttercream? Thanks

The ganache needs to be cool enough not to melt the icing, but still pourable.
