Whew that about wore me out...and I am not sure if I did it correctly....took forever for the marshmellows to melt over a double broiler, so perhaps next time I will try melting in the microwave...I also had to add a bit more water because I couldnt get it to come together in my KA (I had one big clump and then lots of powdered sugar left over)......anyway.... any suggestions?

I melt the marshmallows in the microwave. Just takes about 1 minute.

Try adding the PS in smaller amounts. Should mix in quicker that way.

I usually take it out of the KA when I've got about 1/2 the PS mixed in and it's not quite so sticky. I then knead in the rest of the PS by hand. I'm just too scared of burning up my KA!

I also find that in our dry climate I don't need to use all the PS. I usually have about 1/4 cup left over.

Having a cup of sugar left over is probably good. When you start to use it, if it seems sticky, use a bit of SIFTED ps just to get started.

I sift a bit on the counter, roll out the fondant some, sift on a tiny bit more, and knead it. That should take care of the stickiness.

then I clear the sugar and roll in on a plastic rolling sheet. It makes flipping it on the the cake very easy.

Don't give up on MMF I swear every batch I make gets better and better. You get a feel for the fondant and will be able to adjust for the weather conditions. I made adouble batch this weekend and it worked like bought fondant. I kept bragging about it to my DH and he would jsut roll his eyes and agree with me. The little things make me happy.

Did you add water when you were melting the marshmallows? I also add a 1/4 cup shortening to the mixer before I add all the ps. keeps it moving in the mixer, then I don't have to do it by hand. Also, FYI, add your coloring to the melted marshmallows, then you dont have to hand kneed it in!

I make 1/2 batched of MMF in the colors I need. Then I have left overs for in the future and I keep a batch of White to color for small amounts.

I found out with my cake this weekend to always warm up the mmf in the microwave (5 sec at a time) to soften it up before rolling. Works like a charm, just roll with crisco on the mat and pin. Hope that's not too much info, I am just really liking MMF right now!
