I made a batch of mmf and am ready to knead it and basically play with it.

now the question... What do I cover my work surface with to keep the fondant from sticking? ( I don't have cornstarch )

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide this newbie!

You can use powdered sugar instead of corn starch.

I have only worked with MMF a few times, and either shortening or powdered sugar will work, depending on how the fondant is. If it's dry I used shortening, if it's on the wet or sticky side I used powdered sugar.

Hope that makes sense.

Good Luck.

some people have said they roll theirs out on a piece of vynl (sp) They say that it does not stick, and also you can just turn it over onto your cake and peel it off. I have never done it, but I am seriously thinking about it.
