I need help from all you wonderful and talented cake decoraters here. I will be working with Luster dust for the first time in a few weeks and I have a few questions. The cake will be red velvet with buttercream frosting and fondant accents. I need to paint the fondant accents gold. Should I paint them before I put them on the cake or after? Also, I don't want the fondant accents to be so hard that they are not edible. Does the fondant stay soft once on the cake? Any help, suggestions and guidence will be welcomed and appreciated.
