Don't get all excited! It was just a LITTLE fondant ..... for the ribbon for my Hershey Kiss Cake .... http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=811973 ....

Took this to my niece's wedding shower today, where the theme was Hershey Kiss. The ribbon says "Kisses for the New Mrs."

The cake is covered in chocolate ganache with the fondant strip placed on top. I had no idea how to mold a shape to it, so I just draped it around the upside down Wonder Mold pan. Since I had no intention of eating this thing, I just used the Wilton Brand fondant.

I actually took 2 cakes (plus the choc fountain) as my donation to the shower. The other cake is the flower garden cake (just posted in my photos). I'll be doing her wedding cake in Sept.

I don't think I'm convinced to use this stuff to cover a whole cake yet, but MAYBE i MIGHT kinda THINK ABOUT IT for small decors 'n such ... but no promises! I guess I can't say "100% BC" anymore, huh? icon_surprised.gif

Good Job!
I'm actually one of those weirdos that likes fondant. Well I really do prefer BC if I'm eating it. But I like the way it looks anyway. You know if you open that door the next thing you know your going to wanna try, just for science sake not because you like the stuff, more like an experiment, afterall everyone else is doing it, right???? Well atleast you can say you tried it and if you never do it again you did it once and it looked good.

I am like you, not a fondant fan. BUT, I will say that it definitely makes certain tasks easier and faster. How the heck would you have done that banner without it? icon_smile.gif Great job, that cake looks yummy!

Good for you Debi. I am so proud of you for this baby step. I have yet to cover a cake with fondant. But I do use it to decorate. quite a bit.

I love that cake debi! What a cool idea! See now I really prefer fondant, I think it is easier. I hate when people want bc cakes because I am terrified of bc!
