I'm making a shoebox cake and I don't have an airbrush and I want to paint it with luster dust and I was wondering if I can mix it with vodka and use a spray botle to achieve an even result, is that possible?

Usually, the air brush uses a superfine mist to apply color. You should try it on a sample, it may blow out too much liquid and the color might run.

I just saw something called luster spray- like the canned spray colors but I'm guessing it just adds luster! Had it in my 'shopping cart' but had to edit down because I went overboard$$$. Don't think it's offered here at CC, so if you want, I'll tell you what site I was shopping on-if we're allowed to do that!

You know those pump aresol bottles you use to spray olive oil? You pump air into them (they aren't realy aerosal) would that work with liquid airbrush color I wonder? Probably would be blotchy.

What where they useing on ace of cakes in the hotel room though? It looked like a spray can of food coloring! : ) (I have an airbrush and I know they have one too but they were away from the bakery)

okieinalaska is right about the pump sprayers - I use one for spraying oil, and it comes out very, very blotchy.
