Hi,

After reading the orginal post at lunch I raced to lowes after work last night. Got to the store and the appliance specialist had no clue what I was talking about. I looked around and found the flyer. They had them hidden and not out at the enterence. I took the ad back to him and he played on the computer for 20 mintues and said he couldn't find it. He told me it was to late 6:30 pm to call the headquaters and get some information so he gave me his card and said to call him tonight before I came to the store and he would have the details.

So I got in my car and drove home. But when I looked at the ad when I got home it says you have to have a loews card to pay $150 is that true? Also, they don't have a model # listed in the ad. How is BB & B honering the ad, what model are they giving?

I currently have a Cook's from JC Penny but as I explained to my family its the Rolles Royce of mixers and I really want one.

My business partner and I each go one. It is a special order, mainly so you can pick a color. We ordered them on Saturday night and last night they called to say they were in. She paid cash, I paid with my Visa check card. I would think BB&B would honor it! I would call around. It is the 5 quart Artesian (sp?). Good luck!

HI,

I ordered mine from Lowes, and I paid with my credit card. I didnt use lowes card and I do not have one either..

I had no problems at all. I just went to the store, picked the flyer and asked the sales associate to help me special order one.
She just did it in like 5 mins and said that I can call them after a week to check if it was in.

I dont think you need a model number since you are showing them in their FLYER...Some store associates dont know anything but act as if they know everything..
I think you should go back and check with a different sales associate or store manager.

Regarding BB&B I went there yesterday and they said they will price match but I cannot use the 20% off coupon on the top and they charge 12 dollars shipping if you want a color that they dont carry in the store.

My ad did not state you needed the Lowes card. Only that it was special order and I had to special order mine. They looked up the order number in their catalogue after I picked out the color. I will have it August 2.

The specifics as I know it are:
Artisan Model
325 Watts
10 Speed
5 quart bowl with ergonomic handle

I do know you can call 1-800-993-4416 to order it. Go online and pick your color from KA so you have the model number. (Each color has a specific order number.) The small print on the back of the ad says that anything not in the store can be specially ordered.

Unfortunately I am not sure if you order over the phone that you can use the $30 rebate found in the thread rebate because it asks for a cash register receipt.

I honestly have to say, as a Cook's owner and lover, Cook's the better mixer because it has higher wattage then the Pro 600 which is the highest for home use, unless you get an older one, or get the big bulky icky looking commerical ones. Cook's comes in with 700 watts for the same price you're all paying for the cheapest kitchenaid.... Just my opinion.

You can use any type of payment. I looked at the ad, and they are talking about payments on the cabinets at the top of the page.

The $30 rebate is only for Item# 148386 - Metallic Chrome, 51758 - Onyx Black & 184335 - Empire Red. If you buy one of the three, the rebate form will print out with your receipt. You can also do a phone order if you have the model number that you want.

It looks like Lowes.com has removed all of the 5-quart Artisan models. They also removed the page 2 from their weekly online ad.

Oh ya HsvTeacher....they are not dumb, someone just made an error. I checked online also but nada. Too many of those ads got on the street and they are only trying to stop the bleeding and figure if you can't see it online it probably is an urban myth that they are that cheap, cuz I didn't believe it yesterday until I went to the store........

My Lowes did not have on KA on the shelf - not one. But I still special ordered it!

(I really feel sorry for the final ad proofer employee, they will probably be looking for a new job soon.)

When I went yesterday to buy mine, the store had a ton of ads on a stand by the door. They also had several of the metallic chrome and empire red mixers on the shelf. Instead of special ordering one, I bought a metallic chrome model, so I could get the $30 rebate.

I really want to go back today to see if they have removed the mixers from the shelf. One of the managers really did not want to give me the ad price, but I pointed out that there should have been a sign on the display about "special order only" or "typo in ad." She finally gave in, but she was not that happy about it. Oh well...I got my mixer!!!

Ok, I am very confused....I went in and ordered one in Metallic Chrome yesterday. I did not get a rebate form with my receipt and when I look at the receipt, it shows the item number as 161490

Yet the description is 5 QT Artisen KSM1560PMC (MC stands for Metallic Chrome).

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Sarah

My receipt had item #148386 for metallic chrome. Could you have ordered the custom metallic series chrome?

Well I just spent 20 mins on the phone with the BB&B next to work and they will not honor the ad. They said its a $299 machine and when they call lowes they say it was a mis-print so they will not honor the $150 price.

Guess I will have to go back to lowes and place the order and wait ten day for it. I called this morning to speak with the day manager and I have the model # it KSM150 and it will take 10 days to receive.

OhMyGoodies: You are right I loveeeeee my Cook's! But I don't have a backup machine incease of any problems so for the say price as the Cook's throught I'd give the kitchen Aid a try since its so popular.

Is there any other stores beside BB&B that might take the AD?

You can try Linen's N Things and Sears to price match the Lowe's ad.

Also, consider getting the Custom Metallic series from Lowe's for $150. These have MSRP $530 but they are ringing up for the same sale price as the Artisans ($150). Model numbers for the Custom Metallic series is KSM152PSxx where xx is the color (Satin Copper, Brushed Nickel and True Chrome). I got True Chrome for me and Satin Copper for my aunt.

I ordered my pink KA from Lowes for 159.00 out the door. It will be shipped to me on 07/31/07. This will be #4 for me (yes I still have the other 3...classic, 425 watt commercial, 600 watt commercial and now this 325 watt artisain). My Dh thinks I am a nut case and wants me to sell the smallest one, the classic. I've had that for 6 yrs and its my first real mixer (I had my mothers 1959 Sunbeam, still do but I'm deathly afraid of it...lol) I'd feel bad for letting her go. What do you think? Should I sell it? Maybe someone out there like me many yrs ago, could use it and God knows, I have a few to spare...hahahahaha.

OH...and I am looking into the Cooks mixer myself. 700 watts and its on sale at JCPennys, com for $149.00!! Thats a steel!!! http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=21559&CatID=21559&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1010d86

I had ordered one from Lowe's, but it didn't qualify for the rebate. I took the ad and the sales receipt to Sears, and they matched it and gave me an additional 10% off ($12.00) for the price difference. I also received a receipt for a $30.00 rebate from Kitchenaid. My final cost will be $118.00. This is much better than the original price of $299.99. I plan to return my first one to Lowe's since I only need one mixer. I feel the need to bake a cake. LOL

Hi

Just ordered mine today.
My local Lowes has their sale mixers on file. There are only certain numbers you can choose from.

If you don't have a flyer, I would think you can still order them.
The model numbers on sale are.....example : KSM150PSMC (metalic chrome) KSM150PSER (empire red). I ordered both! NO Problems here!

Good Luck. I think the sale ends today.

Wattage is not an indicator of performance or power, but is merely the number of watts of power the appliance draws as it operates.

Many appliance manufacturers (especially vacuum cleaners) make a big deal out of the wattage of their units, but it's just a sales tactic.

You need to take into account the size/capacity of the mixer and the overall reliability of the brand. Wattage should not be a factor in your decision.

**ALERT** I just got back from Lowe's and BB&B. BB&B would NOT honor the sales add from Lowes because they said that Lowe's told them it was a misprint!!!!!!!!!!!! I rushed right back to Lowes and purchased the Chrome 5qt 325 speed and they honored it but it did not ring up at $150 it rang up at 299.00, so they had to do an override and give it to me at $150. I told them that I had spoken to a manager (which I had, trying to get him to honor Linen's N Things coupon and he wouldnt) so she just had to do an override. AND it printed out the $30 rebate, so after its all said and done I will have paid $120.00 for a 299.00 KA, not bad!!!!!!! I already have one but what the heck, I'll just do icing in one and cake mix in the other!!! ha ha Call me dishonest or what you will but I never asked them if the ad was a misprint. I have a thought that BB&B were just not wanting to honor the price????

Thanks Sherri....companies do use tactics don't they. And me, being somewhat of a newbie to baking....it sounded good. But then, they'll mark up the prices on things to make you think it's better quality too.(sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't) LOL

thedessertdiva,

My DH got me the COOKS 700 watt a few months ago.....I LOVE IT!!!!! and love the look of it. I just make cakes for family & friends but my hand held was killing me. I still have my hand held for other things, but my COOKS is my new best friend in the kitchen icon_biggrin.gif .

I am so very happy for those of you who were able to get a new mixer, I know that feeling. Now ladies get in that kitchen and make some cakes with that new mixer icon_lol.gif

Thanks for the info on the rebate. I bought three of them today (at the $150 price) and I got the only three they had left -- 1 black and 2 chrome/stainless. If I hadn't seen the rebate announcement on here I might not have looked at my receipt and sure enough - I'll get a $30 rebate on each of them. Thanks again and happy baking.
