It's my first time to freeze my cakes and I wanted to know.....Does it need to brushed with a simple syrup or can I just freeze and also how long will they take to thaw?? Thanks so much......I have a 4 cake weekend.....1 of which needs to feed 150.....so I need all the help I can get.

I freeze mine with no simple syrup - just cool and wrap in plenty of plastic wrap. They thaw in just an hour or two but it will depend on the size of your cakes - larger will obviously take longer.

Anyone have an idea about using a foodsaver after the cake is frozen? (in a few weeks will have lots of cakes) I could start baking and freezing then foodsaving if this might work. I don't know.
