Does the spray mist work well? I have to make a football sport cake. I was thinking about using the spray mist to spray on the green field.
Any ideas or should I use icing color to tint the icing?

I've used it before to enhance some icing that wasn't as red as I needed. I've not tried it with white icing to get a rich color though.

Actually I would recommend not using it for grass. I tried that for the same reason and couldn't get it totally green. It's my golf cake on gallery. I had even sprayed it 4 to 5 times. HTH

I use it all the time...last night I used the green, it depends if your not going to smooth the field and you're going to leave little peaks or something like that, yes it would look cool because it would have different tones of green because of how the spray lands on the icing.... It just depends on the tone of green your looking for.....

Keep on baking...

I have used it with good results...although never on a wide open area like a football field.....I can see how the color can look uneven.... how are you planning to make the white yard lines?

I was planning to pipe the white with buttercream icing. I may go ahead and color my icing green for the field. Still undecided.

I have not had good results with the spray color when trying to achieve a dark color on a large area. It tends to get splotchy, and I applied a lot of little coats, as you would when spray painting.

I have used it several times. It doesn't cover completely, but it does pretty good. I used it for grass in the "Cars" cake in the gallery.
