Oh my gosh I am so nervous, happy, scared you name it! I have my first order for a paid wedding cake! icon_surprised.gif Basically all that I have ever done is birthday, baby shower etc.
So along with this excitement has come the nightmares, I had a dream last night that the bride went to cut into it and I had forgotten and made the whole thing out of dummy cakes! [A little chewy but very pretty, lol]
Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated !
Also here we go again with pricing, I almost feel like I need to cut my price since I am by no means a professional and it will be my first cake for 150 people. What would you do?
Thanks.

I have seen your work and you make beautiful cakes. I am sure you'll do just fine. I have yet to get a "paid" wedding cake job. Looking forward to it though. I am sure I will be just as freaked out. I look at it this way. They picked you for a reason. Jump right in you'll do great. Lean on CC for help!!! icon_smile.gif

Congratulations!! You do beautiful work, so NO, don't cut your price! You will do fine. Take a deep breath and think of it as any other cake. I've only done 1, so not too much advice for you, just encouragement. What cake design will you be doing?

I agree that you do beautiful work that looks very professional. Just looked at your photos and am reminded that I see many cakes I had previously admired. Don't undercharge. You will do fine! My advice is to plan; and do as much prep work ahead of time as possible. Make sure you work out ahead of time what time you can be there to set up (so that the table is already prepared for you)...that is one thing I have learned not to neglect...(don't assume someone will be there when you deliver and that things will be in place... icon_smile.gif )

Just remember that a wedding cake is just another cake only decorated differently. You'll do fine. Take it one step at a time. All your cakes are very pretty. You'll do a great job icon_smile.gif

Do not undersell yourself. Your work is fantabulous. I charge anywhere from $1.75 a serving for simple BC. A fondant wedding cake (minimum) is $500.00 and up.

Thank you for the nice compliments. You guys are great!
It actually looks like an easy cake but I have learned that those for some reason always turn out to be the hardest for me!
It's just the basic 3 tier with roses filling in between the layers and on top.
I showed my daughter the cake picture this morning and she said I was crazy for even worrying about it after some of the other cakes she has seen me sweat over.
Thank you for the encouragement!
