I have never covered a cake in fondant that I haven't had to add a trim to cover the imperfect edge. It always has a little wrinkling somewhere at the bottom or I end up cutting a little too much, etc.

I am looking for tips on trimming the fondant around the cake icon_confused.gif

(I use a pizza cutter)

Thanks!!

It will make a difference if you apply the fondant without the wrinkles at the bottom. It helps to elevate the cake, slightly, to smooth the fondant past the bottom of the cake. Then trim the excess with a knife or scissors to just under the board and smooth the bottom with your fingers.

good luck.
