Hello!

Is there anything I can add to buttercream frosting to get a shimmer effect? I am looking for the same efect that luster dust has on fondant. I don't want to use sprinkles though.

if you let your icing crust you can brush the pearl dust right on it. It isn't as nice as fondant but it works in a pinch

Thank you so much, I will try it and see how it looks. I might just have to use fondant if it doesn't turn out the right color.
