My Aunt just called and asked me to make a Curious George birthday cake for my 1 yo cousin. Has anyone ever seen a shaped pan? If not, any suggestions on where to go for pics that I can transfer on top of a cake? OR how would I carve a cake?? I have never done that before.

I'm pretty sure there is not a Curious George pan, and I don't know much about sculpting cakes.

Here's the link to a google image search for Curious George ... lots of pictures here: http://images.google.com/images?q=curious+george&hl=en

Good luck! icon_smile.gif

You could do a chocolate transfer or a FBCT or an edible image. I did an edible image on a curious george cake in my album. I also did a frozen buttercream transfer on another in my photos. I went to the curious george{movie} website and found some really good pictures. There are some really good pictures in the galleries. Just look under curious george.

my default for finding anything is ebay...even if your not set up or it, it is really easy!! its worth a look, you can search without having to be signined up with them just to see what they have.

If you don't have Curious George books easily avalible, check out the children's section of the public library. They are large and usually well loved picture books.

I have a printer for the edible images. You need a new printer and edible ink cartridges. I had to beg my husband to get it for me! I got my printer for about $120, but it is an all in one. Mine is a Epson Stylus, I know most recommend a Canon for the edible images, but I like this one and it has done the job thus far. The ink can be kinda pricey, I get the refill kit and just refill my own cartridges. Kopycake is where I buy all my stuff. They have pretty decent prices and I get my stuff in good time. But so far the cost has been worth it to me. It beats having to have Wal- Mart print out your images and then they won't do pictures that are protected by a copyright. Whcih maybe I shouldn't be doing either!! icon_wink.gif

Heres one I did with a Frozen buttercream Transfer. I got the picture from the new Curious Gorge website.. I taped a piece of wax paper to the comp screen and traced it with a pencil.. Works great..

Thank you! Dots and stars....it was a pretty easy cake to do. I was nervous about the FBCT, but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Good luck on yours, you'll do fine!
