The cake I am making this weekend is for a bride that's going to be on the show Bridezilla. I already made her shower cake, that was okay, but now I have to deliver the wedding cake. I DON"T WANT TO BE ON TV!! If I don't sign the waver they can't show my face, I'll just be a blurry blob head. Of course I really don't want my body on there either ( I can hear it now, "who's that lady with the large tush delivering that cake?") I just want to deliver my cake and go, but it has to be assembled on site. Anyone else had a bridzilla?
LOL! You are a riot! I think that's pretty cool..... is your bride a nightmare? I didn't realize that show was still on....
* going to program TiVo *
Truly there is a show called Bridezilla? I haven't even heard of it.....wow - I'd hate to think I'd signed up to BE on that show!
I think everyone's had a Bridezilla - me, I'm only on my second wedding cake, and both have been very pleasant to work with, so that's a plus.
I'd say - sign the waiver, and grin with your bestest smile in to the camera!! Maybe wear a shirt with your name and number on it. ![]()
Oh, how cool is that!?!?! When I was at my brother's this past summer (he has satellite cable - I don't even have a TV!), I watched probably 8 different episodes of that show! While I don't have any advice for you, your cakes are beautiful!!! Enjoy knowing that your cake will be seen by people all over, and that you deserve all the compliments that will be coming your way! Tina
ps ... just checked out your cakes ... they are terrific.
Go for it! Sign the waiver and enjoy! Congratulations and good luck!
Debbie

Sign the waver and make sure your body, your vehicle, your cake box, and anything else you can think of are very well marked with your business name. Think of it as free advertising.
WOW!!! Go for it.. You should have a shirt on that says " HI TO ALL MY CAKECENTRAL BUDDIES". Oh my, SIGN!! Good Luck.. hey what time and date will it air?? I would love to see a cakecentral "cake" on T.V. Your cake is gonna be FAMOUS!! WOOHOO
I've never seen them show anyone delivering a cake on the show. I guess if it was a source of drama, you could be the first!!! ![]()
But I'm always trying to get just a glimpse of the cake on that show, and that's about all I ever get, so just keep us updated when it will be shown if you know!! Cool stuff!
Wow!!! I'm very excited for you!!!!! I watch that show all the time. Be sure to let us know when it will air!!!! ![]()

They only show the true Bridezilla moments on that show, so as long as your cake is great (and it will be), you should be able to deliver it, set it up, and leave - I Tivo that show (don't ask) and have NEVER seen the cake get delivered...they rarely even show the cake but for a second!
Congrats and charge extra, haha! ![]()
OMG I would be SO nervous!! I dont know if I could do it...I dont like to be watched while im working. lol
Good LUck though!
Im so excited for you!!
Beautiful Shower cake by the way!
Arosstx you are right, I've nerver seen the cake being set up or anything like that on this show. Maybe they tape that part just in case disater happens (not trying to scare you, you're a PRO
)They usually show the cutting of the cake and the crazy stuff that the bridezillas do.I think you have nothing to worry about. Caixa ![]()
OK, this is weird. I am watching Bridezillas right at this very moment. The episode that just went off was of a couple who's cake was damaged. The people at the restaurant kept trying to hide the cake from her and she was demanding to see it. When she finally barged her way into the kitchen, one side of the fondant and icing was scraped off of the cake. They threw it into the air back and forth about who was at fault, the restaurant or decorator. Finally the bride calls and goes off on the bakery and has them to come all the way back to fix the cake and put the ribbon on. I can't see a decorator leaving a cake in that type of condition, but no one at the restaurant stepped up and admitted the blame. I wish you luck, and it's your decision, but if people find out about this and something bad happens, then your work could be scrutinized by people who don't even know the whole story. I would be afraid, but from your pics, I can see why a bridezilla would choose you. One last thought, be careful because these girls are on the show to look like witches with a "b". I think they nitpick and try to find fault just to look like a true bridezilla.
Thank you guys for all of the support. When I did the shower cake the t.v. crew wanted to set up a fake tasting and have the bride not like a cake or two then choose after that (which was unnecassary, the bride had already tasted my cakes and knew she wanted chocolate). They wanted to know my name and to call me so we could set something up. It makes me freak out to just think about it. I think your right cassandrascakes, they do try to be mean enough to make a good show or it may not be aired. I definately don't like confrontaton. If I got yelled at I would probably cry, which of course would be what they want. Too much stress for a hobby. The camera crew did like my cake, it was chocolate with chocolate filling.
I think it's exciting!! Good luck either way.....your cake is going to be on TV!!
kinda werid thought that they would ask the bride to NOT like some of the cakes before she chose one she liked! but guess that would be good for TV.
WOW !!! you're gonna have your 15 minutes of fame soon..
don't forget to wear a low cut gown !!! LOL
That's awesome.. show us a photo of this cake later.. ![]()
I LOVE watching Bridezilla, but I don't get to watch it often because my DH and my sons HATE it! Oh please be sure to let us know when it's going to air! The cakes in your pictures are beautiful, especially the shower cake! I can't wait to see the wedding cake on TV! Good luck & keep us posted!

I saw that episode and I thought it really sucked how the bakery got blamed. Yes, the bakery forgot the ribbon, that is the reason they had to go out and while they were there fix the cake. But they never said who delivered the cake or who caused the damage. It was my understanding the restaurant picked up the cake and did the damage.
I felt bad for the lady who had to come in and fix it. But she did it like a pro and you couldn't even tell.
I wouldn't even begin to know how to fix it.
I thought that bride overall was relatively tame though compared to some of the brides. Although I don't their marriage is going to last very long to be honest.

Well, today i delivered the cake for Bridezilla. The maid of honor had already told the T.V. crew to stay away from the cake lady
. They had no problem with it. They just sat around and had their lunch and they were very nice. The bride was nice to me also, she said that the cake was exactly what she wanted
. What a relief!! There was a little tif between the Bride and maid of honor about where to put the cake but it was over quickly (probably since the camera was not rolling). While I was putting the cake together the producer told the bride to "you be the bride and let me be the producer". I guess she was getting a little bossy. I gues they don't call her bridezilla for nothing. The show is going to air at the end of September, I don't know the exact date but there will be around three episodes. Anyway all that stress for nothing. Here is the cake.
