I don't know what the problem is today with the gallery, won't allow you to select a category for posting photos.

Anyway, this is for a memorial today for a friend who passed away earlier this month. He was Buddhist and I wanted to try and honor him with something that would relate and be in good taste. Did a search and found these symbols to be meaningful, I think his partner will appreciate it.
The script is a mantra or prayer of compassion, the conch shell used as an instrument to spread the enlightenment of Buddha to all corners of the world, the golden fish represent liberation of the spirit and the white lotus purity of mind. Gumpaste Banner with edible images.

Thank you. Now I feel badly about taking up space on the forum, suddenly the gallery is working again.

a very beautiful and elegant cake --

a very fitting tribute to his life.

i bet his partner will be more than pleased (bring kleenex!)

(and it's just as fitting that you posted it both here -- where it will gain more attention and in the galleries too!)

YDG! RG!

Thank you, I think he would have liked it. He always liked my cakes and was a big supporter , I used to tell him I would have to pay him a finders fee because I got many orders through him.

Thank you. I was thinking one of our members who happened to be Buddhist would post that I got it wrong. icon_redface.gif
