How Do I Make A Pirate Cake?

I need to make a pirate ship cake for next weekend and I was wondering whether anyone had any patterns or directions for me. I have seen some lovely cakes in the gallery, so if any of you there are willing, can you help out?

Go for it. You might need to make some slight adjustments.

Thanks, I'm still mulling the thought of using loaf pans, but I need the customer to come back to me first, first of all, whether she wants the ship or an island and then secondly the serving size.

Yea you need the serving sizes and design for sure. The loaf pan would work as well but it's going to limit the width of the cake.
