Could someone please tell me the what size pans make up 1/4 sheet 1/2 sheets and full sheets? Thanks in advance.
9x13- 1/4 sheet
12x18- 1/2 sheet
2- 12x18 is full sheet
I use the 9x13 as a quarter sheet, so if I have to do a half sheet different flavors it's easier. I use the 11x15 for the half sheet and two of those for a full sheet. HTH The 12x15 is the 3/4 sheet here. Wow lisacakes the bakeries here do the 12x15 as a 3/4 sheet two of those will not fit on a full sheet board here.
There's different answers because a lot of pans are 9x13, but then you have the 11x15 that wilton sells, so things get complicated. I use 11x15 for most of my 1/4 sheets unless someone just wants a really small sheet cake. Then I'll use the 9x13, but I think it's just too small lol
BTW I hate sheet cakes. Why can't people be more creative? lol
I refuse to use the terms and here's why:

Because we don't have all the cool tools at our disposal. LOL, and my husband is ready to divorce me if I keep buying things and haven't sold anything yet. ![]()
And some of us can't be creative to save our life. ![]()
and...
should I go on. ![]()
The terms are *old*! They stem from when bakeries didn't even have special pans. Most 'commercial' bakeries use one pan....a sheet that is (as best as I can remember) 24x36x1. Almost everything from bread to coffeecakes to cookies to buns to cake is baked on these sheets.
When it proved impractical for people to want a cake 24x36 the bakers started to cut them in 1/2......then that 1/2 in 1/2 again thus the cake sizes were 12x18 (known as a half sheet) and 9x12 (known as a quarter sheet).
Much later on companies started making special cake baking pans. They come in many different sizes thus the confussion as to what is a 1/2 sheet and 1/4 sheet.
11x7; 12x8; 9x13 can all be refered to as a 1/4 sheet
11x15; 12x16; 12x18 can all be refered to as 1/2 sheet.
All of these pans come 2" deep; most also come 3" deep.
The number of servings each pan gives depends on how much batter you put into it.
The 11x7 and 12x8 use one boxed cake mix. The 9x13 uses 1 1/2.
The 11x15 and 12x16 use two boxed cake mixes. The 12x18 uses 2 1/2-3 (depends on brand & flavor).
Here is my standard.
9x13 is a quarter sheet
2 9X13's area half sheet
4 9x13's are a sheet
11x15 is a third sheet.
You just have to pick what you want and go with it. I don't like working with large size cakes so I just use my 9x13 for everything. Like others mentioned, there is no standard any more.

OH, I didn't mean people on here not being creative, I meant the people who ask for sheet cakes.
Just this week I had to do 2 of them. The woman actually went to the local grocery store and took a picture of one of their cakes with her phone. It consisted of 3 small balloons made of icing and Happy Birthday written really big on it. The other one she just said "oh just put a car on it or something" I'd just much rather do something more exciting.
LOL... I refer to item # Some of us can't be creative to save our life!!!
Honestly, if i had never found this wonderful place; I would be the continuous boring person ordering sheet cakes.
Sun33082 btw congratulations on your success in the weight loss arena. Keep up the great work and may you continue to succeed in "losing"!
